Jessica Lynn

It's not every day that I get to photograph my not- so-little sister's senior photos.

I STILL have a hard time believing that the girl I photographed for an hour at sunset was MY JESSY! I'm so thankful that I shared these senior photo memories with her. So, here's what happened...Jessica approached me and she said that it was her dream to take her senior photos in this famous little flower field in Lititz, PA...with her horse. So, we did just that. We loaded her sweet horse, Greyson, on our trailer and we made some art in a flower field at sunset.

Pretty ideal, I know.

We most DEFINITELY had eyes watching us the whole time and it seemed that everyone was taking pictures...of us taking pictures. I guess it wasn't the most normal occurrence and it was pretty picturesque...hence, why we were there. It was actually kind of hilarious, to be honest. You couldn't wipe the smiles off of our faces that evening if you tried. I dare you to time travel to the past and see if you could stop our smiley selves. I DARE YOU.

(Let me know how it goes, if you do? I spoke confidently, but if you can time travel...well, I freakin' respect you.)

Please enjoy Jessica Lynn Gehman's senior photos.

SHOUT-OUT to my Mom for standing behind me and my camera waving things and making noises so that Greyson would have his ears up in the photos. You should get a raise, Mama!

DISCLAIMER: We were asked to not bring our horse back to the flower field for safety reasons so, unfortunately, you cannot bring your horse to this famous little field for YOUR senior photos. A great dane? Maybe! But a horse? Nope! I do want to officially apologize to the owner of the field for any disrespect you may have felt. We should have asked permission before we brought our horse. We are so thankful for the owner's kindness in planting the field and opening it to the public. You are inspiring our community to get creative, be generous and come together. It's such a beautiful thing, really. God bless you.

Lucas + Jenny

I know Jenny from high school. The stunning, academic, red-headed super athlete was a few years above me and basically one of the coolest girls in school. So, I can't lie...I felt pretty honored when I was asked to shoot one of the popular girls wedding's! There was some reuniting to be had at this wedding because Jenny's brother, AJ, and I graduated in the same class AND my high school soccer coach was the pastor. Small world!

Jenny + Lucas's wedding was so detailed and all of the decorations were handmade. Jenny had her mom's wedding dress remade! Isn't that so sweet?! She even had a photo of her mom on her wedding day and I had to pinch myself as we took a photo of it! So dang sweet.

Enjoy Jenny + Lucas's wedding day and God bless your week!

SECOND SHOOTER: : Maddie Broderick

Lucas + Rachael

When I was in Hawaii this past April I was asked to photograph Lucas + Rachael's vow renewal and BOY am I glad that I got to be a part of this joyful celebration. Their closest friends brought their chairs and blankets, came down to the beach, sang some beautiful songs and supported the renewing of Lucas + Rachael's vows. It was so beautiful and and felt so real to their lives as their two sons ran up and grabbed their mother's hand during the ceremony and stood by her side. Through tears they shared their renewed vows and made fresh commitments to one another.

So. Dang. Beautiful. God bless their marriage!

Rachael and Lucas are talented musicians and Rachael is about to release her newest album. Keep on the lookout!

Click HERE to listen to her live worship album, "Live at the barn."

Enjoy these photos, friends!

Autumn

Autumn is creative. Autumn is inspiring. Autumn is full of life.

No, I'm not talking about the season, though, all of those statements do apply. I loved Autumn's senior session. We walked around Lancaster city and ended the session on the top of a parking garage. I know Autumn because we went to the same school. She is so dang sweet and pretty easy on the eyes, ay? And if it already isn't obvious, HER HAIR IS GLORIOUS! She probably walked away from this senior portrait session with a head ache because I asked her to shake her hair so many times. Oops.

#doitforthephoto #forgivemeAutumm

Enjoy these photos, friends and God bless you! YES, you!

-Sarah

Autumn, I pray that God would bless you with even more joy in the little things in life. Enjoy the journey, lady. Enjoy your moments, because they add up quickly.

Ariel + Travis

Ariel approached me with the sweetest idea and asked to book a mini-session to surprise her husband for date night. HOW CUTE! (Photographic proof of cuteness below). I photographed Ariel + Travis's wedding less than two years ago less than two years ago and, if you remember, they had such a lovey-dovey, joy-filled first look. But, Ariel and Travis seem like one of those couples that will be in the "honeymoon phase" for life. Yup.

Remind yourself and click HERE to see what I'm talking about.

Happiest of Mondays to you.

Brad + Jess

Photographing family is a joy. No, Brad + Jess aren't family by "technically" by blood...well, we aren't sure about that actually. We might have to do some research, but I know Brad's last name is Gehman...so, of course we decided that we are cousins.

This engagement session was so much fun and most definitely did not feel like a job.

I truly love that I get to meet such wonderful people and get to capture their story.

#NEVERQUITTING

And now for the photos - enjoy Brad + Jess and their contagious smiles!

Nate + Jane

I. Love. These. Two.

Nate and Jane were just a few years below me in school and they are both wonderful. Nate and I were in a musical together in high school and those are some of my favorite memories from my school years. These two have a stellar sense of humor. And OH do they love each other. I'm pumped to have the honor of capture the wedding day of this young-love couple this upcoming September.

SIDE NOTE: How glorious is Jane's hair?!

OTHER SIDE NOTE: I hope you enjoy these photos and your day. Well, I hope that you enjoy all of your days!

Lancaster, PA Maternity Session | Maci + Michael

The ever-so-lovely Maci is a long-time friend from high school who is recently married and just so happens to be the most beautiful pregnant woman ALIVE. I have proof below - just see for yourself! She is also extremely brave...because we took a few bare belly photos in the FORTY degree weather.

I think we both know that it was completely worth it.

Maci, her husband Michael and even their puppy Ollie tagged along for the session and, honestly, I wish that we could do it all over again!

FLOWER CROWN thanks to the sweetest florist I know - Lancaster Flower Co.

Jonathan + Rebekah

I am so blessed. Because of meeting people across the globe in missions, I've been given connections that are unheard of. I've met friends from, literally, all over the world and this time I got to photograph a stunning couple, inside and out, in the beautiful land of South Africa. If you aren't aware, South Africa is the southern most country in Africa and yes, it is a country. It is not just a general term for the southern part of Africa. It is its own country. And it's wonderful.

South Africa.

This is my most favorite country on earth. If you haven't taken the trip - please do. (Actually there are some discounted sales happening on flights right now - so you COULD go.) This country is full of so much life and beauty. I met Rebekah, the bride, in Kona, Hawaii while I was doing a missions school. We bonded, became friends and...well, next thing I know I'm photographing her wedding in Cape Town, South Africa.

Rebekah and Jon - love you both tons and tons.

Enjoy their wedding photos. :)

Forrest + Mandy

Here's the deal...when you're friends get engaged and you're all together on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean...you take photos to prove it all happened. Mandy + Forrest have been living on the big island of Hawaii working with the same missions organization that I am with - YWAM (Youth With A Mission). They are so in love it's adorable. But, you don't need me to tell you that...the photos will speak for themselves.

Prepare yourself for some Hawaiian beauty from the big island.

And without further adieu, here are Mandy + Forrest's engagement photos.

Bethany + Tim

Prepare yourself for a dreamy woodland wedding. And, as always, thanks to Maddie Broderick for being such a wonderful second photographer. Bethany + Tim were by far one of the most laid back, chill couples that I've ever had the pleasure of working with. They intentionally made time in the schedule of their day to ENJOY IT...and it made the day so joyful for everyone involved.

Couples - make the same choice for YOUR wedding day!

These two even had a tender, private moment as they chose to wash each other's feet before their ceremony. It was an all around beautiful, life-giving day to be a part of. ALSO, it's rare that you attend a wedding when almost EVERY guest in attendance is on the dance floor.

To Bethany + Tim's friends and family...ya'll know how to celebrate.

***looking over notes I took of all of your dance moves

Taylor Noll

Taylor has to be one of the sweetest women that I've ever met! She is so dear and we meshed instantly.

I love photographing seniors for so many reasons. But, one of my all-time favorite reasons HAS to be that I get to meet so many new people. I love people - I really, really do.

So, for all of my clients who have given me full creative permission to make art of your families, children, weddings, engagements, and so on and so on...THANK YOU. Thank you people. Thank you friends.

I feel so blessed, because I am.

Jenny + Lucas

I went to high school with Jenny. Yes, she is the stunning red head in all of the photos below.

Her (soon to be husband) Lucas, Jenny and I met at Eastern University where the both of them graduated. We had such a lovely time and the lighting was beautiful, as were my subjects.

I'm so honored to be their wedding photographer next May in Pennsylvania!

Which are your favorite photos?

Bailey Brubaker

Bailey is such a darling woman and I'm so glad that we got to meet up and capture her senior photos. She's adorable and her smile is so contagious. My jaw was sore by the end of our session as proof of the contagiousness from her smile!

Bailey, I'm a fan of you AND I love how your photos turn out.

Have the best school year yet, girl!

Edie + Ian

Listen up, friends. I had the joy of shooting a destination wedding on the Oregon coast last weekend and let's just say that it does not disappoint. That whole "west coast, best coast" phrase is really starting to make sense. Pssst - don't tell the east coast I said so!

Please enjoy these photos of Edie + Ian's destination wedding!

Also, thanks so much to the one and only  Emily Timmer for second shooting!

Rilynn + Christian

While I was recently in Texas, shooting Eric + Shelby's wedding, I had the joy of visiting my sister and her adorable little family. Two of my (many) sister's, my grandma I hopped on a plane and made our way to Dallas, Texas for a visit! And I think it's safe to say that I'm a tad obsessed with my niece and nephew.

They. Are. Precious.

They also have more energy than four adults combined. #TRUTH

Now...I know you are going to look at these photos and think, "Oh, that little girl is a baby model, right?" Because, let's be real, she's just that perfect. HER EYES ARE CAPTIVATING!

Please enjoy their adorable little baby-sized faces.

Eric + Shelby

Hey y'all - I started my 2016 wedding season off with some southern charm last weekend.

(Yes, I did just say "y'all")

I had the honor of shooting a true, southern wedding, in the great state of Texas! I connected with Shelby through a wedding referral Facebook group - how random, right? Shelby's wedding was the perfect excuse for a visit to Texas to visit my sister, niece and nephew - so I made a trip of it! Eric + Shelby's wedding was located on Shelby's family's horse farm and... It. Was. Stunning. The guests were greeted by the horses as they walked into the stable and found their seats in the aisle - I've never seen a wedding like it!

You know the phrase that says it's good luck if it rains on your wedding day? Well, these two lovebirds should have LOTS of luck for their marriage!  After the first hour or so after I arrived, it down poured the rest of the night. But, that didn't stop their guests from celebrating!

Thank you for trusting me, Eric + Shelby! Your love is beautiful.

-Sarah Gehman

Marvin + Amanda

How great are these two?! Marvin, Amanda, the sun and myself all met up at the Lancaster County Park for their engagement session. The light was lovely, as were Marvin + Amanda. Also, be sure to look at the very last two photos to see the sunset that we had during their session! #ALLTHEHEARTEYES

Marvin + Amanda, thank you for trusting me to capture such a beautiful moment in time for the two of you.

I'm thrilled to be a part of your October wedding this year!

-Sarah

Which ones are your favorites?

The Berts

I wish that everyone had the honor of knowing the Bert family!

Please enjoy a few photos from the Bert's family photo shoot from the fall.

Aren't they beautiful?!
